My boys and I are definitely having a sugar rush today! Since Lent is over and I'm able to eat sweets again we have been celebrating Easter all day. First of all we went to mass. Oh, how I love mass during Easter!
And then we went to Pizza Hut. For those of you living in America going to Pizza Hut is probably no big deal, but living where we live, going to Pizza Hut is a HUGE thing. There is just one Pizza Hut in the whole province and going there is a bit complicated because it's located in the only mall in the province. You either go by car, bus (which is always overcrowded and takes forever) or taxi. We eat at Pizza Hut about twice a year, on very special occasions.
When we got home we just went CRAZY!!! We have bought quite a lot of sweets, cookies and chips and we put it all on the living room table. A table full of candy! I don't think we'll be able to sleep until really late tonight. *lol* We watched the movie "Asterix and Obelix at the Olympics" and in a little while we're going to watch another movie. I'm glad they have the day off tomorrow. *lol* I think we'll have a sugar hangover. ;-)
Well, Lent is almost over for this year. Only two more days to go....
My experience this year has not been so good. I had so many plans for Lent this year, I would start praying every day, I would do my Rosary, I would read the Bible, I would stay away from internet, cookies and meat... Well, in the end I just managed to stay away from the internet (thanks to the internet provider that cut me off), meat (except for one day when I had to eat out and there was no non meat food on the menu) and cookies (except for a few days when I was on the edge of a total breakdown and needed a sugar rush). So in the end I guess I did okey. Not as good as I planned, but it could have been worse.
Life has been really chaotic lately. Lots and lots of problems and no solution not even close, so I feel really exhausted. I hope things will start to improve soon, because I'm really running on empty right now.
The kids and I plan to have a tiny party just for us on Sunday. I hope it will be fun, because we do need some family fun time to be able to go back to school and work again after over a week of vacation.How is it that I always feel more tired AFTER the holidays than BEFORE?
Anyway, have a great Easter!!! Don't eat too much candy and eggs. *lol*
There is always a good reason for a throwing a party or giving a gift to someone. One day I really like is Mothers Day, although I think she should be remembered every day and not just once a year.
The history behind Mothers Day is interesting. The Egyptians celebrated the goddess Isis who was considered the mother of the pharaohs, so in a way you can say that celebrating Mothers Day started there.
As a crafter I think Mothers day is a perfect time to show her your love by giving her something you've made yourself. Here are some craft ideas to a "Love you Mom" scrap book or a hand made card.
Mothers Day is not celebrated the same way or even the same day of year in different parts of the world. In the USA, Canada, Turkey and Bangladesh among others it's celebrated on the second Sunday in May while in Sweden it's celebrated on the last Sunday in May and in Spain on the first Sunday in May..... In Panamá it's celebrated in December.

Eid Mubarak Said to all Muslims! And Merry Christmas to all Christians & Happy New Year to everyone who celebrate the new year. In a few hours I'm going to get up again and make us ready to go to the mainland. We're going to visit a friend in Malaga and o Thursday we'll continue our trip to Stockholm, Sweden. I'm taking a few days off and will do my best to enjoy myself. *lol*
So now I'm one year older. Yes, today is my birthday. I'm not going to tell you how old I am because, frankly, I definitely don't feel my age! Actually, 10 years ago I felt a lot older than I do right now. I think this is my best age so far - I feel young, healthy, full of energy, beautiful (well, at least some days), I take care of myself and I'm happy with my life. Isn't that more important than a number in your passport?
Today is also my youngest son's birthday, he turned 8. We've been celebrating all day and had a lot of fun. We had both lunch and dinner at restaurants and we had a lovely orange cake with coffee on the roof top this evening. We got lots of presents both of us. My parents gave me scrap things (I got the most beautiful card stock you can ever imagine!) and my husband gave me a pilates ball and a pilates/yoga DVD. I can't wait until I'll be able to try my new DVD, because I've heard so much about pilates and how great it is. I've always been a yoga kind of girl, but I'm willing to give pilates a try. *lol* Unfortunately I won't be able to try it until the end of September because of the kitchen make over, but I might be able to watch the DVD at least. I guess I'd better do a search on the net to see what information I can come up with about pilates. I'll let you know what I think about it once I try.
My oldest son, B, turns 10 tomorrow! I can hardly believe that, considering how sick he was when he was born.
I will never forget the first time I had a look at him, several hours after giving birth, because he was barely alive when he was born and the doctors ran off with him to the NICU right away. He was violet and swollen and seemed huge in comparison to all the other babies in the NICU. I only caught a glimpse of his feet, due to all the alarms and machines surrounding him. The first doctor I met in the NICU told me he would probably not live for more than a few days so it would be best if I didn't get too attached to him.
Every year, when his birthday comes closer, I get really, really stressed, because I remember her words and that reminds me of the futility of life. My baby does not belong to me. I just borrowed him for a while and God can take him back without a moment's notice.
And I love my son so very much! He is my most precious treasure and my biggest joy in life. I'm so proud of him!
